Bronx Birthday
So I turned 41 last week. I was on my way back from a visit to Dominican Republic and had one day on the coast before I flew out. A missionary buddy hooked me up at the Sosua Bay Resort where I could enjoy some sun and rest. I eating my birthday dinner by myself, apparently loooking pathetically lonely, when a group of 38 ladies (mothers and daughters) on vacation from the Bronx invited me to join them. I was hesitant at first, but ended up having a great time. They absolutely loved to complain and were quite good at it. With their unmistakeable Bronx accent, they decried the hotel as hawrrible, the food was hawrrible, the cawfee was hawrrible, yet somehow, in the end, we all felt better. I guess community trumps just about anything the world has to offer.
